Life Facts: Born in Tweed Head, a little town just a five-minute drive to the Australian surfing mecca of Coolangatta. In Coolangatta, surfer Dean Morrison rode his first wave by the early age of 5. Wayne "Rabbit" Bartholomew one of a few Australian surf pioneers (78 world champion and an actual ASP President) detected Dean's potential and natural talent for surfing. He competed on the WQS during 4 years (1997-2001) before moving to the WCT in 2002. His coaching paid off when in 1998, Dean won the Australian and World under 18 years of age titles.
Successes: In 2003, surfer Dean Morrison won the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast, QLD Australia.
Surfing Style: The media often compare him to Tom Curren for his morphology and low center of gravity style. He's got the same old-fashion elegant tube riding style as his Australian pioneer surf mentor Wayne "Rabbit" Bartholomew and he's also able to throw big air and radical turns as well.
