Surfing Coach: Luke Stedman is coached by his father, Shane Dorian, who is an emblematic pioneer of the Australian surf industry and culture.
Life Facts: With surfer and shaper Shane Dorian as a father, Luke Stedman may not have had a choice but to start surfing young. He doesn't like to be seen as an athlete running only after the gold medal and the fame although he spent 5 years on the WQS from 1999 to 2004 (except 2003). Luke has been competing on the ASP WCT since 2004. He lives modestly making his living doing what he loves mostly. Luke takes training seriously with long workouts and stretchy yoga.
Successes: In 2005, Luke had an ASP WQS tour victory in the O'Neill Pro at Anglet, France. He placed 3rd at the 2006 ASP Bells Beach World Championship Tour event.
Surfing Style: Luke Stedman surfs in a regular stance. He has an acrobatic and aerial surf style. Some would consider Luke part of the new surfing school style! Luke has appeared in the Surfing videos - Campaign 2, Doped Youth, and Zoup surf campaign.
Other Sports: On dry land, Luke Stedman enjoys snowboarding.
